There are several questions that are constantly being raised when the nyu home Login process is being discussed. The primary thing that needs to be remembered is that your account can be accessed through the nyu home Login. NYUHome is a service that provides information and facilitates collaboration, interaction, and communication for NYU faculty and staff members, and students in degree or diploma programs, both in the United States and overseas. It is a portal to many web-based services and tools, including e-mail, Albert, Blackboard, NYU Lists, classes, research tools, and more. For Windows, the site administrators suggest using the latest version of the Firefox or Internet Explorer web browsers. For Macintosh OS X, they suggest using any of the Mozilla- based browsers (such as Mozilla or Firefox) or Safari. You can also log in into NYUHome anywhere even when you are traveling.
The NYU Login Service "Internal Server Error" is occasionally impeding access to a number of applications, including NYUHome, Blackboard, and the Benefits Resource Center. As an interim workaround, should you encounter this problem, click the refresh button at the top of your browser window (or press your keyboard's F5 key) until the proper page appears. For a successful login to NYUHome, it is imperative that you configure your browser properly. You may need to clear your disk cache. The disk cache holds frequently-accessed web pages. The browser checks the modification date and time of pages in the cache against the actual web page. If they are the same, the page in the cache will be used. This is fine for most pages, however, if you do not see appropriate changes to the web page, try emptying the cache and loading the page again. There are a variety of reasons why you may see a "Your Session Has Expired" or other error message, however, the four most common are described below. Note that in most cases the easiest first troubleshooting step to take is to quit and restart your web browser and try to log in again.
Log in to your nyu home account now:
1. To properly log in to your nyu home account, you will need to get into the nyu home Login page: https://login.nyu.edu/sso/UI/Login?goto=https%3A%2F%2Fshibboleth.nyu.edu%3A443%2Fidp%2FAuthn%2FRemoteUser
2. Log in to your destination by entering your NetID first on the designated text area located in the log in panel.
3. You should enter your password on the next text field as it is the second required log in information.
4. You can finish the process by clicking the Login button below your password.
1. Make sure you type in the correct URL! There is no "www" in front of home.nyu.edu. And, for best results, make sure that you're running the latest version of the web browser and that you've checked your browser settings against their recommended settings.
2. At the log in field, click the Need Help? link. You will be taken to a new page where you should click the "Forgot your password?" link.
3. These Help options will appear:
What if I forget my password?
If you have forgotten your password, point an Internet browser to the NYU Start page, enter your NetID, and click the "Start" button. On the next screen, click the "Continue" button, which will walk you through the steps of validating yourself and requesting a reminder of your password.
What if I forget my password and the answer to my password hint?
If you are unable to remember the answer to the password hint presented to you on the NYU Start page, please bring your NYUCard to the IT Service Desk at 10 Astor Place, 4th floor to verify your identity and have your password and hint reset.
If you are truly unable to come to the IT Service Desk in person (e.g., you live abroad), contact the IT Service Desk at 1-212-998-3333 or via the Ask ITS form for further instructions.
I'm trying to login to my account, and it keeps telling me that my login ID or password is incorrect. What should I do?
Try logging in again, making sure that you have typed your NetID and password correctly: All NYU NetIDs are in lower case; did you use lower case when you typed your NetID? Is Caps Lock on by accident? Are you typing your Google Apps password by mistake? Assuming that you do know your NetID, if you try again and you still can't login, you should follow the instructions at What if I forget my password? above. If this still doesn't work, you should go to the IT Service Desk with your NYUCard (10 Astor Place, 4th floor) and a staff member will help you.
